Nucor Corporation investing $4.4 million in Decatur manufacturing facility
BIRMINGHAM — Nucor Corp. recently announced plans for a capital investment of $4.4 million at its manufacturing facility in Decatur.
The investment is projected to cover costs for new equipment on the company’s hot mill pickle line, which will enable the company to diversify its product line in Decatur. The site employs more than 730 workers, where work is set to begin Friday.

This is a relatively small investment for us, but an important one,” Chad Potter, division controller for Nucor Steel Decatur, told the Decatur Daily.
